This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to respond to abnormal and emergency situations in an aircraft in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and national operating standards. It includes responding to a medical emergency during a flight, responding to adverse weather and/or flying conditions, and responding to an abnormal or emergency aircraft situation.
